SKILLS DEVELOPMENT NIGHT:
Friday Night Competition
Warm up begins at 5.30pm
Athletes should arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure competition starts on schedule.
During athlete warm up ALL parents, including Tiny Tot parents will be asked to listen to important information and centre updates via the Centre Manager's address.
Little Athletics is time for busy parents and their kids to interact together in a fun healthy environment.
Our volunteer CLAC committee and returning families are always there to support and guide new parents. Tasks can be as simple as raking sand, collecting shot puts or place judging. Some maybe more comfortable with an occasional night helping in the canteen or cooking on the BBQ. Set up and Pack up helpers are always welcome!
We encourage bringing the family together in a healthy outdoor sport where parents and children can meet in a safe and supportive environment to socialise with others sharing a similar interest.
Friday competition nights and training sessions are not drop off centres and no children are to be left at the field without a guardian or parent present.
Under 6 to Under 17 - Born 2002 - 2013
After warm up, athletes will line up behind their Age Group Trolley Bag and the Age Managers will direct them and helper parents to their first event.
Once the season commences athletes U6* to U17 will complete a 5 event program and the night finishes between 7- 8pm.
* U6's program may include 4 events including skills development until Nov/Dec.
Tiny Tot's - Born 2014 and 2015*
* At CLAC, 2015 born children MUST be 3 and have an older competing sibling/s to meet our Registration Requirements.
Due to the high numbers of interest we do have to limit the number of Tiny Tot's that we can register to ensure a safe and fun environment for our athletes.
After warm up, the Tiny Tot Coordinator or parents will escort the Tiny Tot's to their roped off area.
ALL parents will remain in this area and help run the Tiny Tot program as directed.
The program involves play and game based Skill Development and includes activities such as bean bag throwing; mini hurdles; running races; long jump and high jump activities; and balance based obstacle courses. Their night concludes at 6.30-6.45pm with a parachute activity.
A parent choosing to remain outside the roped off area MUST congregate at the ends of the area. Due to the safety of our athletes NO parents are allowed within 2m of the OUTSIDE RUNNING TRACK LANES
At the End of the Night
Come up to the canteen grab a Steak or Chicken Fillet Burger or a Sausage, pull up a chair and chat to other Little A families.
