TRIALISTS - Frequently asked questions
- How many trials - Athletes can trial twice anytime between now and Christmas and the trial nights do not have to be consecutive
- Trialling involves - Joining in with our re-turning & new athletes at two of our regular Friday night competitions. This gives the trialist a typical Friday night experience. Friday nights start with a warm up at 5.30pm (arrive at 5.15pm) and usually take about 2 hours. Tiny Tots will be completed by 6.30pm. After warm up, look for the Age Manager/ Age Group Trolley bag that corresponds to your athletes age group, which will be written on your trialling band. The Age Manager will take the athletes AND their parents/guardians around to their programmed events
- What to wear - what is comfortable to compete in but SHOES even for tiny tots are compulsory
- Cost involved - Trialling bands are purchased for $10 at our Sign On/Registration pack collection events. Payment can be by cash or eftpos.
- Friday 30 Aug - 4:30pm to 6:30pm
- Saturday 7 Sept - 9am to 11am
- Collect Trialling bands - Please arrive at 5pm to collect your athletes pre-paid trialling bands from the canteen area, BEFORE you join the Friday night competition.
- Family Involvement Expectations -. Little Athletics is designed to be run by ALL of the parents to benefit ALL of the children. NO children are to be left at the field either during Friday night competition or training without a guardian or parent present
Our volunteer committee and returning families are always there to support and guide new parents. Ask - How can I help? Jobs can be as simple as raking sand, collecting shot puts or place judging.
