Caloundra Little Athletics also have several Specialised Perpetual Award
Most Improved Award
One of the aims in Little Athletics is to improve individual athletic performance and to provide incentives for athletes to improve through collaboration with “Family, Fun and Fitness”. Everyone likes to win, but not all are able to. All however are capable of improving and achieving a worthwhile standard. Our Most Improved Award is therefore aimed at recognising and rewarding improvers, not just winners.
TeamManager’s Perpetual Award
Selected by the Team Manager, this award is presented to the athlete who during the season epitomises the Caloundra Little Athletics mantra of Fun, Family and Fitness whilst representing the Club. This person should also have displayed one or more of the following traits: a higher than expected level of sportsmanship, excelled well above their normal levels, is well respected by their peers and opposition, displayed respect to coaches and officials and offer encouragement to teammates.
Jess Haig Captain’s Encouragement Award
SELECTED BY CLUB CAPTAINS
In 2013 Jessica Haig proposed the establishment of a perpetual Encouragement Award for the junior members of Caloundra Little Athletics.
“I have been a member of the Caloundra Little Athletics Club for over 10 years and have thoroughly loved the people, competition, sportsmanship, atmosphere and challenging myself. I would like to give back to the club that has given me such a wonderful grounding in athletics and camaraderie. I remember in my early days at CLAC in some events I was not able to achieve what the other athletes of my age could attain – but I was always enthusiastic, persistent and wanted to constantly improve. Because of this attitude I have continued to grow as a person and as an athlete and am now able to perform competitively at a high level in the sport, whilst still loving every minute of it.”
