Friday Night Competition - what to expect
A typical Friday night program will take between approx 2 hours, depending the size of the age group AND the number of parents that help
Friday night is usually competition only, track; jump; and throw coaching/skill development is offered at our free mid-week training sessions, when there is more time available to help support individual athletes!
Friday night warm up begins after 5.30pm
Registered athletes should arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure competition starts on schedule.
During the athletes warm up, ALL parents, including Tiny Tot parents will be asked to listen to important information and centre updates via the Centre Manager's address.
Little Athletics is time for busy parents and their kids to interact together in a fun healthy environment.
Friday competition and training sessions are not drop off centres and no children are to be left at the field without a guardian or parent present.
All parents are expected to help run the competition night. Our volunteer committee and returning families are always there to support and guide new parents. Jobs can be as simple as raking sand, collecting shot puts or place judging. Some families, may prefer an occasional night helping in the canteen or cooking on the BBQ. Set up and Pack up helpers are always welcome!
You will pay a FAMILY BOND at the time of registration. This bond will be refunded to families who help regularly. Ensure your write your name down beside a job on the list in the canteen. Committee will monitor this list & helpers
We encourage bringing the family together in this healthy outdoor sport where parents and children can meet in a safe and supportive environment to socialise with others sharing a similar interest.
