On Saturday 25th of November we will be holding our Annual Caloundra Carnival at the grounds.
Athletes from Under 6 to Opens may compete in up to 6 events with U7's to Opens being awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals. All attending U6's athletes will receive a participation medal for being part of this fantastic day.
The carnival is not compulsory but the athletes, including parents who do compete, all have a great day, testing their skills and abilities against other athletes from many centres in South East Queensland.
The open events are a time for the parents and older siblings and guardians to show their athletic skills and it can get quite competitive amongst some of them, especially in the Open Javelin and 100m dash.
There is an enormous amount of time and effort that goes into planning and running a carnival of this size and it is a great experience for all those involved. Volunteers are needed on and before the big day. Assistance is needed for field prep, setting up the shade tents and other equipment, recording, cooking on the BBQ, helping in the canteen, packing up at the end of the day etc. So please put your hand to ensure this years Open Day is the best yet!
