The carnival is not compulsory but the athletes, including parents who do compete, all have a great day,
​testing their skills and abilities against other athletes from many centres in South East Queensland.
CALOUNDRA OPEN DAY SUMMARY
  • Under 6 to U8 athletes as per LAQ policy can compete in up to 4 events and will be awarded a participation medal
  • Athletes - LAQ U9 to U17 including multi Class; non LAQ members; Opens (17 to 29) & Masters (30+), yes mum and dads as well can compete in up to 5 events. 
  • ​1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be awarded for these athletes
  • Non-LAQ members; Opens & Master athletes will need to be members of Queensland Athletics ('no-club base member) or an affiliated QA club member. Your National ID number will be required as proof.
  • ​There is a $12 fee to join QA as a no-club base member

  • First events will start at 8am and please ensure you arrive at least 30mins before your events.

      Cancellation and all other updates such as program re-scheduling will be published on the Caloundra LA Facebook page & website
  • The day is designed around participation & having fun.
  • THE OFFICIALS DECISION IS FINAL - WE WON'T ALLOW PROTEST​ ​
VOLUNTEERS WILL BE NEEDED - PLEASE RESPOND TO COMMITTEE REQUESTS
This is our major fundraiser of the year and there is an enormous amount of time and effort that goes into planning and running a carnival of this size but it is a great experience.
​
Volunteers are needed on and before the big day. Tasks such as field preparation; setting up the shade tents and other equipment; cooking on the BBQ; helping in the canteen; helping at the events; selling raffle tickets and packing up at the end of the day and so on.
FEES:
  • Under 6 to U8 - $10 flat Fee - Maximum of FOUR events (participation medals awarded as per LAQ policy)
  • Under 9 to U17 including Multi Class $20 flat fee - Maximum of FIVE events 
  • Non-LAQ; Open (17 - 29) & Masters (Over 30)  athletes - $5 per event *
*Non-LAQ members; Opens & Master athletes will need to be members of Queensland Athletics ('no-club base member) or an affiliated QA club member. Your National ID number will be required as proof.
